sportsman 48 16ga

hello,

i have had this gun for quite some time. remington sportsman 48 16 gauge. any idea how much it is worth anyone. no one here has seen one like it before. i cant find any info on it.

  A good gun, but not a Browning. Well built, but not a Browning. An A-5 clone, but not a Browning. Looks like a Browning, but isn't a Browning...
  
  I think you see where this is going. No matter what, the gun will always be compared to the A-5. Value will run 50%-60% of a similar Browning right across the board.

  NORD, YOU HAVE THE WRONG GUN. ARE YOU THINKING OF THE MODEL 11?? THE 48 SPORTSMAN LOOKS LIKE THE MODEL 1100 REMINGTOM. BROWNING DID NOT MAKE A GUN LIKE THIS. IN GOOD SHAPE IN THIS ARE WILL BRING AROUND 250-300 A LITTLE MORE WITH A VENT RIB.. MADE PRIOR TO 1959.

  Value of your gun will depend on condition, vent or plain rib, any alterations such as a add on pad, grade, etc. You are looking at anything from $100 to $300 unless it is a D or F grade in good condition. There were 67,789 16 ga. Sportsman 48s made from 1949 to 1960. Total production of the 11-48 (the five shot versiion) and the Sportsman 48 (3 shot) in all five gauges and versions was 730,743 from 1949 to 1968.
