  I wish you luck. There may be some still around from rifles that were stripped for the action. I would post this on the items wanted forum as you might have better luck there. However, don't give up. I found a like new finger groove stock for a early 1903 Springfield at a local auction and wsa able to buy it for next to nothing, so you never know.

  You might try Midway. I believe they had some a while back. I also have seen them on ebay auctions.

  I'm another that's not too clear on exactly what it is you're after, as "a nice modern stock" wouldn't describe one made in 1917-18. You might be interested in the exact replicas currently being made by Boyd's Gunstocks. Very nice walnut.
