Yugo SKS Compensator

I recently baught a Yugo SKS and would like to remove the grenade launcher and replace it with a muzzel break. All the breaks that I was able to find are un-threaded twist and lock type.
Can anyone give me an idea of where to look for a compensator that can thread on just like the gernade launcher.

You have a difficult problem here, because the threads on the Yugo barrel are bound to be metric, and therefore incompatable to threaded compensators made in the U.S. which use English threads. You will almost require a custom made part; unless, possibly, you could find a European or Chinese part with compatable threads and diameter. You can purchase threaded (English) compensators from Brownell's. As an alternative, you could silver solder on an unthreaded compensator. A final thought--a skilled machinist might be able to convert the grenade launcher into a compensator without removing it from the barrel. We have a Croatian firearms expert on board named Hulvin who has tinkered with Yugo SKS rifles, and he might have a solution for you. 0 -

If you post a thread entitled something like: Question for HULVIN he will probably see it and respond. If not, I'll send you his e-mail address after a couple of days. He might be busy--he's a forensic firearems expert, and they probably have a lot of business over there in the Balkans. That's why we have so many troops tied up there![;)] 0
