    Thomas Palmerton, Sculptor And Painter

    Brownville, Nebraska

    Thomas Palmerton was born December 9, 1932, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He returned from an overseas tour of duty in 1955 to attend the Kansas City Art Institute from which he graduated in 1959.

    Art directorships and teaching positions at the Institute and UNO followed until 1966 when he started painting full-time. Since then he has successfully pursued a career in the fine arts.

    Today, Tom lives in Brownville, Nebraska, where he maintains a painting and sculpture studio and gallery. Tom also owns Seven Hills Art Casting Foundry where he casts all of his own bronzes and those of several other midlands artists.


    His works hang in many prestigious collections throughout the country including those of the Ford Motor Co.; Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery, Lincoln, Ne; Joslyn Memorial Art Museum, Omaha, Ne; Mutual Of Omaha; ConAgra; Vincent Price; Lee Iaccoca; Lady Bird Johnson;. Eddie Rabbitt; Lou Rawls.

    Recent commissions include Late Arrival- Flight Of The Sandhill Cranes, Peed Corp.; Tree Of Knowledge for Southwest Iowa Community College; Governor Robert Furnas and Hartley Burr Alexander busts for the Nebraska State Capitol Hall Of Fame; life size figure of Jason for Children's Square USA
