Walther P99 9mm to .40 conversion?

Does anybody know if the frames for the Walther P99 9mm & Walther P99 .40 cal. are the same? I heard at a show that it is possible to "convert" the 9mm to a .40 by purchasing the .40 barrel and slide; however, I can't find anyone locally who can confirm this. Obviously, if a guy can save a few bucks this would be an interesting way to go but I'm guessing that when you add up the cost of barrel, slide, spring (?), & mags it may cost more than just buying the .40 complete. Thoughts?

BTW--the P99 is an OUTSTANDING handgun! By far the best "feeling" gun I've ever fired.
