S&W Model 617 cylinder gap

I just purchased a new 617, my first full size .22, and my first internal lock handgun. The lock does not bug me as much I thought it would.[:0] I guess it's time to be dragged into the new Century. My question is about the cylinder gap. How much is too little, and how much is tooooo much[?]
P.S. It shoots just great with CCI Mini Mags. Probably the most accurate handgun I own.[:p][:p][:p]

  are you talking about the face of the cylinder to the forcing cone.....?

  A barrel - cylinder gap of .003 to .009 is acceptable. With .004 to .006 being the best.

  From the face of the cylinder to the forcing cone, sorry I wasn't clear. I can get a .006 feeler in snug, and not a .007 feeler. The gun shoots GREAT and I just wanted to be sure on the gap. Thanks.
