there are several different youth models out there , New England Firearms makes some nice single shots ,they start at about $89 and go up from there if you get a combo set ( 2 barrels ) , Remington makes their 870 express ( $239 ) in the youth model, the express comes with plain wood and a matt finsh, turkey ( camo ) , deer ( slug barrel ). they also make their 1100 in 20 gauge , this year it came out in the 3 inch, turkey model ,full camo with 21 inch barrel( I think ) and rem chokes cost is about $550 on it.
I know there are others out there , hope this helps [8D]

Remington Arms Model 1100 Youth Synthetic LT-20 20 6.5 lbs 21" 4 shots, this is a very fine shotgun for kids, not much recoil and she will be able to handle it.The Remington Model 1100T LT-20 Synthetic Youth Gun is an ideal choice for young shooters or small-stature adults. It combines a stock shortened by one inch with a small-frame receiver and short, 21-inch barrel for perfect balance, comfortable fit and easy handling. In addition, the Model 1100 gas-operated action in 20-gauge creates only moderate recoil in a shotgun that weighs just 6 1/2 lbs.

To improve the all-purpose versatility and durability of this handy shotgun, it is being offered with a strong, weather and wear resistant black synthetic stock and fore-end. The vent rib barrel of the new Model 1100T Synthetic 20-Gauge Youth will also incorporate a RemT Choke system with inter-changeable tubes (only Modified included) for a variety of field and clay target applications. Both barrel and receiver have a non-reflective, matte black finish, and the receiver is decorated with the familiar Model 1100T scroll work.

My son has a Remington 870 20 gauge youth model. Love it! If you look around, you can pick up a great deal on a used one that a kid has outgrown. Like gskyhawk said, NEF makes a heck of a youth combo gun. My son also has a NEF pardner shotgun in 410. Good shooter. Let her try several "on for size" and see which one fits her best.

Taxation WITH representation isn't so hot either!
