Savage Model 1905
A friend brought one over today to let me look at it, and it is a pretty neat looking little .22. Has a butt-plate like the old flintlocks had, and is bolt action single shot. Has a serial number of 32xx, and is in pretty good shape, except the he foolishly re-finished the stock. Anyone know anything about these? Value, rarity, history, number made, etc?

I have a Savage model 1905, in excellent condition, has a curved metal shoulder piece on stock, and a filagree trigger guard. 22 cliber Anyone have any idea of it's worth?
The gun has been in the family since it was new.0 -
Was able to dig up a little about your friends rifle.
The 1905 was a larger version of the 1904 which was made as a "Boys" rifle. The 1905 was in production until 1919. Total produced unknown? Don't imagine any great collectors interest, being the stocks been refinished.0
