benelli nova
What is your opinion of the Benelli Nova Pump 20 Gauge, 26", 3"? I've heard they are very good and quite nice to shoot.

Benelli engineers started with a clean computer screen when they set out to design the Nova, and the result is a 31/2" 12-gauge pump-action shotgun for a new millennium.
The Nova doesn't use a conventional receiver and separate wooden buttstock. Instead, Benelli has developed a single unit that incorporates a light but rigid steel liner encased in a glass-reinforced thermopolymer shell. This new design results in superior strength and corrosion resistance.
The buttstock has a recess for easy installation of an optional recoil reducer, a welcome accessory when heavy 31/2" loads are selected. And getting to it is as easy as twisting off the recoil pad.
A button in the bottom of the fore-end activates a shell stop allowing the chambered shell to be removed and preventing the next round from being released into the action.

ranger is correct. i would highly recommend the recoil reducer. although i do not own a benelli, i have shot one of each(with and without the recoil reducer). excellent weapon for rugged outdoor use. 0 -
Forend rattle is annoying. I put a mercury recoil reduction gizmo in mine - it helped making it point nicely. 0 -
forend rattle was a problem with mine also, i got some truck bed liner (spray on) from an automotive stop and sprayed the inside of the forend. end of rattle. it's also the same color as the shotgun. 0 -

It might be a hassle, but could you send a picture of your spray job? or describe it in more detail? I'd REALLY like to get rid of some of that rattle. I think I can buy a can of spray on bed liner at the auto-parts store, I'm not sure where to spray it.0 -
SORRY BUT NO PIX, I JUST MASKED THE OUSIDE OF THE FOREND AND SPRAYED INSIDE THE HOLE AND THE CUT FOR THE BARREL. KIND OF LIKE RUBBER COATING THE CONTACT PARTS. CLEAN THE AREA TO BE SRRAYED WITH LAQUER THINNER FIRST. 0 -
The nova is a great shotgun for a good price. The forend rattling and the hard recoil are the only things I have heard complaints about, but like the others said you can fix both with little hassle. 0
