Does anyone know the twist on the mauser 26" heavy 308 barrels that are on the surplus market now. What would be the ideal weight for it's twist.

  I have one of those take-off barrels and the twist is either 12 or 14 but I can't remember which. I've had excellent accuracy with surplus fmj. I have a book that describes the P-H cadet rifle and it says that it was set up to work with military ammo.
