Browning A5
A friend of mine has a 1972 Browning A5 12 gauge with a vented rib, he says it was made in Belgium. It is new in the box has never been shot and assembled only twice. He is the original owner and has kept it in storage disassembled ever since he got it.What would it be worth? Thanks!

I have a Belgium made A5 light weight made in 1968. If I wanted to get another Belgium barrel for it would it have to be off a light weight gun or will any barrel of that age fit? It is a 12 ga. Also can I put a 20 ga. barrel on it? What is the shortest barrel with poly choke they made? What is the barrel marking on a gun that is factory poly choke? *,**,***,****
Thanks for any and all help with these questions?0 -
MN- Welcome to the forum. I sent you an email re this item. Your A5 is probably in $1000 or more neighborhood. Do a GB search at this site using "Browning 12" or some such. You will see a '72 A-5 Light Twelve estimated at $1000/$1200 earlier this year. Prices are VERY subjective for this popular shotgun, especially considering its nib condition and that it is Belgian-made. You didn't say whether yours was a Light Twelve or Magnum Twelve, but the prices are close. I would give more for the Light Twelve, but that's just personal. Best, Jim

In Texas the A5 Mag will sell for $1025 and the A5 Light for $950, as stated above it will also depend on what part of the country you would be selling the weapon in. I have seen a good shotgun sell for $200 more on the West Coast and for $100 less on the East Coast. 0
