Yes. I have the same setup and mine works fine. If you are not sure take it to a gunsmith for evaluation.

Just curious, will you then be able to shoot 3" shells with this setup?

Hello, I don't see how it can work. At only 3" the barrel wouldn't even be long enough to reach the end of the mag. tube.
A 3" chambered barrel however will work on the gun designed for the 2&3/4" shells but it won't cycle the 3" shells without changing the ejector. Don't use 3" shells on the receiver designed and set up for the 2&3/4" shells.

I believe he is talking about a 3" Chamber, not literally a 3" barrel. And no, you should not be able to shoot 3" shells out of a 2 3/4" chamber.

However, I have heard that some of the older Wingmasters have a longer reciever and will kick out empty 3" hulls.

If you are not sure, take it to a qualified gunsmith.

Hello, the length of the receiver has little to nothing to do with it, the ejector inside the receiver is what "kicks" the shells out. If it is made for the 2&3/4" shell it WILL NOT "kick out" a spent 3" shell. However, it can be made to by changing the ejector.
DUH, I know what he meant, I also know what he typed.

Like I said, I heard it could work, based on what you said, it could be made to work.

Hello, you didn't say that, you didn't even type that. What you typed was, "I have heard that some of the older Wingmasters have a longer reciever and will kick out empty 3" hulls." Not, "It could be made to work."
I don't trust people who don't know how to say what they are thinking.

    Hey mag,

I hope all this info helps you out somewhat.

And as I said earlier a 3" chamber barrel, which I'm sure that's what you mean, will work on a 2 3/4" receiver. Some barrels are marked 2 3/4" or 3", but also say to only use 3" in 3" marked receivers, and 2 3/4" in all others.

I thought I had read that it would work. Just wanted to hear from someone who had done it before I spent my money for a remchoke bbl.

The 3" will work in the old 2 3/4" receiver,I had the 2 3/4" bbl. reamed out 1/4" deeper and it works good, also had bbl. threaded for chock tubes, great turkry gun, have fun.[8D]
