Fake SOCOM style suppressor for USP 45 pistol
hey all
ok, what im trying to do is create a poor man's Mark 23 SOCOM style pistol using my H&k USP 45. I already have the UTL Light and some AAC high profile sights on it. For display purposes I want a dummy/fake suppressor attached to it, preferably that allows me to still shoot it semi-auto. AAC makes threaded barrels for the USP, and GG&C and CCFA make fake SOCOM suppressors, but i dont think the threading is correct?? How could i make this work, or is there another route i could go?? Also, the weight of the fake suppressor will inhibit the semi-auto functioning, so is it possible to install some sort of "recoil-booster" in the fake suppressor to make it cycle?? Sorry this got so long, but im lost here and could really use some suggestions!! Any thoughts are much appreciated!
Thanks

placing all that stuff on any weapon will increase the possibility of something malfunctioning. at any rate, if you dont already have the usp with the threaded barrel, your looking into quite an additional expense for a threaded barrel and a fake suppressor.
i would try your project on a cheaper gun and keep the hk as is...its a fine gun.0 -
Threaded barrels are available for the USP 45. They are standard on the USP tactical 45. They differ from the SOCOM threading because they are in the reverse direction so the suppressors are not interchangable (nasty German trick to make you purchase an additional suppressor). Gemtech and AAC/Knight make the real deal, they may make fake ones on request. I just sold mine because I'm moving to CA. If you live in a class III friendly State do it for real, why bother if it's fake. I'm going to miss being at the range with a .45 that sounds more quiet than a .22. Sorry about the commentary, but I miss my toys. 0 -
Capital City Firearms at 804-740-4926 handles a full line of suppressors for all HK USP pistols as well as the SOCOM. Previously they were the US distributors for the Swiss Brugger and Thomet line which I consider to be some of the best suppressors available in the world. Capital also used to offer a fake HK suppressor for folks who were unable to own a live "can". You might want to give them a call to see what they have available.
