"Trailsman" made in Jacksonville AR in the mid-1980s. Anyone have experience with this gun? Looking at one in new condition but not sure about quality or reliability.

  the i.j. trailsmans was introduced in 1988 with the early models being assembled with parts imported from argintina. these and the very early jacksonville arkansas production are good reliabilty handguns. the later jacksonville produced model had some quality control problems.
  
  the argintina model have the serial number on the butt and the jacksonville products have a serial number on the frame behind the trigger guard and have an AF letter code prefix.
  
  these handguns were only in production for a short time they were officialy discontinued in 1991 and iver johnson closed their doors for good in 1993.
