I have the Romanian and I have not had a problem out of it yet. No jams or misfires.

My vote is for the Bulgarian if both the same price.

Bulgarian AK's often have milled receivers which are considered stronger by most folks. If they are the same price, I'd get the Bulgarian. I have a Romanian AK and haven't had a single hiccup, so you'll be OK either way. [:D]

2nd on the Bulgarian. From what I've read the Bulgarian AK manufacturer moved their production facility to the US to build these rifles as a way of getting around the import ban. The Romanian is made from surplus parts on a Century receiver. I hear they work great but the Bulgarian if it's a new one is completely new.

I could be way off here. Let me know if I am.

All right thanks guys. Looks like the Bulgarian AK is the way to go.
Pisser is I just called the dealer who had the Bulgarian to ask if he still had it and he said they sold it. [:(!]

Oh well, guess that's what I get for waiting.
So I guess I will get a Romanian one. I think it will do fine, for target practice.
Will look nice hanging on the wall too. [:D] LOL

Isn't that how it always goes! Is it possible that guy can order you another Bulgarian for the same price or was it a consignment?

By the way, welcome to the board?

Ya no kidding, lost a few firearms that way...

I don't know if it was on consignment or not, I just picked a dealer and called. Said they had one. Didn't ask any questions, just said I would think about it and get back to him.
Maybe I will find one here, I didn't wanta buy outa state any way.

Any way, thanks for the welcome. Don't think I will be posting to often, seeing how I can find the answer most of the time by doing a little searching.

I had another question, but that's another topic.

I have two Romanian SAR-1s and a much more expensive Russian Vepr K,the Romanian guns are just as good at half the price.Ive never had any type problem with either of the AKS.But in general the Bulgarian model sales about $100.00 more than the Romanian.I just seen several of both in Shotgun news. The Romanian Rifles with the last digits of the serial no.with 2001 or above are better quality than some of the earlier models.

If you want cheap go with the Romanian. If you want the best go with the milled receiver....Bulgarian Arsenal.
