Sporting Arms Single Action
Anyone ever heard of them?
I found a Sporting Arms Single Action Sheriff Model in 45LC. The only markings on the gun are the caliber on the barrel, the frame says Sporting Arms, Tuscon Arizona, and the SN is SH45-2###. It's a 3 or 3.5 inch barrel with an ejector rod, birdshead grip, unfluted cylinder, wide trigger, and what looks to be a Python style hammer.
The frame looks like a new model Blackhawk. It has 2 screws on the left side in the same location as the pins on a new blackhawk, but the screws do not go through.
Any info would be appreciated.
Sorry, should have searched this site first! The gunbroker auction site has one listed, but it says United Sporting Arms out of New York, mine just says Sporting Arms, Tuscon Arizona. It looks like the same style gun but different configuration. I noticed that the one on the auction site did not get any bids. Asking price on the Sheriff model I found is $350...whadda you think?

Found some info last night. I have one of the huge Std Catalog of Firearms picture books. There is alot of info on the gun(s). United Sporting Arms is the newer mfg of Sporting arms. Supposedly pretty good guns. According to the blue book it's worth about $350. According to the Std Catalog it's worth about $350 plus %10 for short barrel and plus %20 for birds head. 0 -
