Remington 742-7400

Can anyone tell me if a barrel from a 7400 can be installed on a 742? Did Remington make any 742's in 35 Whelan?

  Her is what I have found... Remington Model 4, 7400, 742, 740 & 74 came in these calibers--- .30/06, .280, .270, .35 whelan....

  No they will not interchange. The barrel and the bolts are different.
