Detonics Combat Master
As much as I love my Colt GM, it is just too heavy for summer time carry. I am undecided on a light clothing "fill-in" carry piece. I would like to stay with a .45. I remember the Detonics CM as being popular some years ago, but never shot one. I also like the SA compacts and the Kimber compacts. Any experience or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6!

As an owner of several different models of Detonics, I can tell you there are none considered to be light/weight. Although excellent functioning handguns, I would advise against one for a light/weight carry gun. My personal choice for carry, function, accuracy, and light/weight are the Kimber line. They currently have several models that will fill anyones preference, provided cost is not a factor. Personally, I feel they are the best product on the market for the money. 0 -
Have you forgotten about the Colt Commander (what I carry)? The officers model also can be had with the alloy frame. The alloy frames make these two perfect carry guns. If you are just looking for a change, I like the 38 super. I don't own a Kimber but I hear they are excellant guns. 0 -
