34,6,7 1/2in 3 inch, 4,6,7 1/2, 9(skeetload) in 2 1/2 For G*d's sake don't shoot no. 4 shot in a 410!! Actually no.9 shot is great in a .410 because you sre usually under 30 yards and close in the velocity makes up for pellet size. I don't have my reference books here but I imagine you'd have to go back to the 1920's to find #10commercially loaded. Now in the U.K. it's a different matter as they still have some small batch loaders around but then they like 2 inch shells with 3/8 oz. of shot in the .410

I am with you Henry, I like number 4's on squirrels. Your not spitting shot when you try and eat them then.

Hi - I said that because the pattern is almost non existent with #4! If it works for you - fine but from playing around with shotgun patterns in .410 for 30 years I would think you'd do well to scratch down a squirrel with one shot out of three! Now in 20 guage it's a different proposition but were talking 1 ounce versus 11/16 and that makes a big difference. I usually use a scope sighted .22 but when I do use a shotgun, a .410 with # 7 1/2 shot kills 90% of the time inside 30 yards.
