I am thinking of taking the necessary steps to become a gunsmith, and possibly a class 3. What do you all suggest on taking to get my 'smith degree or license? Do you recommend a specific school or program? What would be the best in your opinion? 0 -
Is the round you were using a reload? If so check the neck size it may have not been properly sized.
Also I have noticed on some chinese factory refurbish/rebarrel jobs the chambers on the barrels were not properly made, some too small some too big had this problem on more than one SKS.

Ditto, could be a chamber dimensions problem. A lot of the Chinese Toks that are in 9mm were rechambered and rebored from a 7.62x25 barrel. You might also check for reaming marks in the chamber, especially towards the front of the chamber where they would have had to hog out a lot of metal recutting the chamber.

I'll check that out tonight, also will do a deep cleaning of that barrel/chamber maybe it's clogged with crud. Would a little emory paper hurt, to clean out the chamber? I was thinking I might try to find a 7.62x25 barrel at a gunshow & see if I can't install that. I also need to find some new grips for it, which shouldn't be to hard.
I think right now I have a decent zip gun[:0] but it would be so much better if it ejected. From looking at the barrel it looks like it had been fired sometime ago but the rifling is very sharp.

The other thing that you might check for is if it was chambered for the 9mm x 18mm Makarov round, I have seen two that were chambered for that round and the weapon was a 7.62mm x 25mm before it was rechambed.If you are not sure take it to a Gunsmith and have him check it for you. 0 -
The 9x18 Makarov is a .364" or 9.2 mm round. That being the case, the 9x19 Luger should fit loose and the gun should probably not be able to go into battery if the chamber shoulder is cut right. The ones you saw were probably chambered for the PMM round which was a 9mm Mak +P+ round more or less. Regular 9x18 probably wouldn't cycle a tilt barrel action too positively. Bet it'd be a rare item though.[:D] Could be the problem though, if the chamber was cut sloppy (on a Norinco? Never[:p])

This is probably a good sign of the barrel having been re-rifled and bored for a different caliber.

Well I completely cleaned the gun out. Found out that the barrel actually looks to be chrome lined. It was blackish gray when I 1st started, when I finished it looked brand spankin new. Was able to put in and get out a 9mm cartridge easily in the dissambled barrel. Cleaned the rest of the gun completely & chambered another round, extracted just fine this time. Didn't extract as strong as my glock but still better than the other night.
I was doing some more reading on the gun and learned that many of these 9mm barrels were actually bored out to 38 super. I think I'll take your reccomendations & have a gunsmith check the barrel / chamber dimensions before shooting it.
The gun actually cleaned up pretty nice. I'm thinking I going to try to find some red grips with a big communist star on the side of em.
I think I might have a decent little shooter here.
