Marlin Mdl. 53 12 ga.
I'm try to determine (without any manuals or diagrams) if this shotgun is a takedown. I can remove the magazine tube/assembly, but there is a lock-ring with slotted screw apparently holding the barrel to the receiver. Inspection from the receiver into the barrel isn't telling me anything either.
S/N is 16XXX and they only made the model 53 between 1929-32 (so I'm told)
I know you can figure this one out!

NO...The Marlin 53 Hammerless Slide Action Shotgun is not a TAKEDOWN...But, is a desireable Collectors Piece...as they were only made in 1929 and into 1930 .....before being discontinued........In Very Good Condition.....is worth $350.00.......
