Break-in on new handgun barrel???
I just bought a new Taurus 85 Ultra-light. It's 38spl+p with a 2" barrel that is factory ported. Since I've never had a ported barrel I want to know what to do or not to do.
How do I properly break-in the barrel?
Anything special to look out for with the ports?
Anything to specially use as loads? as in jacketed or soft leads, as one or the other may cause "shavings" in the ports...
Thanks......

For that precision gun of yours, you better shoot one clean one.
Here's how it works.
1. Load & shoot one round.
2. Unload.
3. Run a patch soaked in bore cleaner or CLP down the barrel.
4. Run a dry patch down the barrel.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 for the 1st 500rds.
With those ports make sure you clean them after every shot.
Just kidding just go, shoot the thing, & enjoy. [:D][:D][:D]
