remington 721 bolt

i have receintly aquired a rem. model 721 bolt in .270 cal. i was wondering if anyone knew anything about performance and reliability. also i was wondering how old the gun might be and approx value. it have a bushnell 3x9x32 scope also.

  Can anyone tell me if a Reminton 700 long action bolt can replace a Remington 721 bolt and if so does it require any alterations?

  721's were made between 1948 & 1962. Total production given as 125,000. Apparently all the different variations were included in this total.

  predecessor to the model 700.Good reliable rifles.Only problem--hard to find certain parts today.Value,in my area anyway, is about 300-350 in exc. cond.
