Hi Larry......I just checked Numrich arms gun parts and they do have many parts for the model 81 but I didn`t see a scematic on there I`m sure if you call them they may help or remington may have one.

get the nra books on take down reassembly. the m-8/81 rifles are tricky and take down is not for the inexperenced. you also need special tooling. 0 -
I owned a model 8 for a while and while it had it's tricks to reassemble, I don't recall using any special tooling. It seems to me both The Rifleman and possibly Shooting Times had an article on them
in the last two years. Mine had a sling swivel on the forearm that was unscewed. It seems it was similiar to an 870 shotgun after that.
I, however did not take it down to the final little bits and pieces.0 -
to do a complete cleaning you to have to remove the barrel jacket. this takes two special spanner wrenches and releasing a rather strong spring. 0 -
Remington 8/81 Takedown Instructions-
1. Lock bolt back
2. Unscrew forearm retaining screw and remove forearm.
3. You will see a lever on a pin at the receiver that
turns 180 degrees in the pins slot. Unscrew it. This
will allow you to remove the barrel assembly from
the receiver.
4. Clean bore normally and receiver with spray solvent.
5. DO NOT TAKE IT DOWN ANY FURTHER, I REPEAT, DO NOT
TAKE IT DOWN ANY FURTHER or you will have to take
it to a really good gunsmith or someone thats done
it before. The receiver is manageable if you know
how. The barrel jacket assembly is very tough, don't
try it. To many things to break and loose that you
can't replace. Word to the wise!!!
6. Reassemble in reverse order.0
