? Reg: FAC Replacement Barrels

Was wondering if anybody has used and/or experienced a problems with fit on FAC (Federal Arms Corp, Fridley, MN) replacement barrels?
I've played around with them for the last couple years, using both the extended/threaded and extended/ported for Browning Hi-Powers, Beretta 92's, etc.
Recently I got one (for BHP)and had to do a lot of fitting to get it to function, as it was considerably oversize.
Than one in the same order, I installed today and it was almost out of tolerance for being to small (in the same area as the other barrel).
I'm just not happy that their tolerances are all over the board.

  I've heard that they work well, but there have been a lot of complaints about fit and tolerances. Rumor has it that they are trying to improve that, but I'm not sure.

  Have you contacted FAC? I got a Makarov barrel that didn't fit (the barrels' breech metal needed to be relieved a bit before it would press in), and instead of breaking out the Dremel, I called and got another (free!) that pressed right in.
  Sent back the other one and got a $25 credit!

  I recently ordered and received 2 barrels, stock length--no threads, for Astra 400s and 1 for Star Model A. They came with directions for fitting, but the one Astra barrel that I installed required minimal file work, and the Star barrel slid right in. I was surprised to find that they had been mfg. in Korea (isn't ANYTHING made here anymore??!!). I'm used to fitting barrels; even the expensive., custom 1911 barrels from Brownell's usually require some file work. You can carefully remove excess metal--but if it's undersized, as per gunnut's Makarov, you have more of a problem. All in all I was satisfied with my purchase.

  I have one in a Glock 21, threaded model with the compensator ... it slid right in seems to be more accurate than the factory barrel, but I can't tell any difference with or without the comp ... but I do like the look. It too was made in Korea.
  
  I've also heard several people have had problems with their HK-91 replacement barrels, the chamber is fluted but flutes not cut deep enough so cases don't eject however the extractor will nearly rip the rim off the case ... also heard chambers are sometimes a little rough which just makes matters worse ... the early barrels were made in Korea, current barrels are made in USA but have same problems.
