.45 acp ammo
Anyone know if Wolf ammunition is any good, I thought i recall someone saying they were cheap loads, but im not positive it was wolf. I noticed the price is almost 100.00 cheaper for 1000 rounds of wolf than any other brands for sale. Or can anyone recommend where i can get .45 acp cheap... kind of dosent make much sense.. 45=cheap.. heh anyways, any input would be great.
thanks

The only experience I have had in Wolf is with 9mm. It shot fine, but is not reloadable, being steel-cased. UMC is not much more expensive around here, so that is what I stick with for plinking with my P-90.
Taxation WITH representation isn't so hot either!0 -
I bought 250rds of Wolf .45 from Sportsmans guide in September or so. I found it to be really dirty in my Colt & Usp at that time. Had a couple of jams in my Colt, but that's not unusual. [;)] The stuff seemed pretty hot. I don't think I would buy Wolf .45 again though.
I prefer using wolf in my AR & SKS. For my .45 pistols I prefer Sellor & Bellot. Seller & Bellot is a little more expensive than Wolf but a heck of lot cleaner.

Apparently, it depends on where you get the stuff; Cheaper Than Dirt in Texas sells a pallet of 45ACP every 30 minutes according to Jeff, so it must be fresh.
As far as Sportsmans' Guide; good, cheap surplus stuff; lots of off-the-wall items, not so good on their pricing on ammo. Must be older stuff?
Far as I know, Wolf is loaded in the same plant no matter who sells it; just gotta get it when it comes in.
If you know it all; you must have been listening.WEAR EAR PROTECTION!0 -
I do have a friend that swears by Wolf .45 ammo. It just seemed kinda abusive to me on my Colt which is getting old.
True, gunnut Sportsmans Guide used to be cheap for ammo, not anymore. Once a year I go up to MN to visit friends I try to stop in their retail store.

Go with S&B for the 45 ammo. I like Wolf in 9mm and 7.62x39, but I haven't cared for the reliable or performance of their other calibers. The bullet they use on the 45 ammo has a very broad nose which make feeding a pain in some guns.
Love them Beavers

I have purchased Wolf .45 auto from Cheaperthandirt.com and it shot fine.It was a bit dirty but it was hot.Stellier & Bellot also make an excellent product for the price.Try www.kieslersonline.com they run specials on ammo and the prices are very fair.[:D] 0 -
I have a Ruger KP 90 45 ACP. The Wolf ammmo did not function worth a damn. I tried some Sellier and Bellot and did not have any problems at all. I have shot a lot of Wolf 9mm and Wolf 7.62 x 39 without any problems, but the 45 ACP gave me fits 0 -
There are more than a couple of gun manufacturers who consider this stuff worse than the Plague. Would not recommend it all.
