Gun coating, Teflon, Parkerizing

I want to conceal my weapon with a flat finish. Do you think Teflon coating is the way to go? Can I get the scope body coated without damaging the optics?

  My ar-15 has a teflon finish. It is a great finish in my opinion. Im not so sure about trying it on the scope.

  There is also another spray on covering and though very exspensive ($26.00) per spray can, it's the best. When I find it,I'll let you know.

  Teflon/Moly finishes are to be baked at 350 for 30 minutes, goog for gun not good for optics. This finish will also hard/cure over time so you can coat your optics then let it sit for a week to cure. Just tape over the lenses.
  Teflon/moly is a super finish but powder coat is much tougher hands down.

  There seem's to be quite a few different types of bake on poly type of finishes on the market. I don't really know if ones particularly better than the other, but I am impressed with the ones I've seem. I'm just waiting till they come out with one in purple. [:o)]
