Ruger Security Six grips
I bought a Ruger Security 6 at the Tulsa show last weekend. It was pretty nice except it had awful grips banged up scratched and gouged.
I remembered I had a set of old Sec6 grips at the house. I got it home and finally dug out the grips and they didn't fit.
The are too small for this pistol and no they are not for a round butt. The grip frame is much larger than the standard security six.
When did Ruger offer the larger grip size and who makes grips for them if anyone does?
No it is not a 357 Redhawk.
Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: And he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one

Hey RUGSTER! A Super Single Six is an adj. sight .22 single action.
I think what he bought is one of the very first Security-sixes known as the 150-series. It has a grip size more comparable to S&W K and L frames. I see these grips for sale fairly often so I'm going to go look around the web for a while and see if I can find you some.0 -
wipala, I didn't find any right now but they will
come up every so often. If you go to E-bay item#
3602447050... these are after market that look exactly
like the the 150-XXXXXX and earlier that you are looking
for but the seller assures that these fit only 151-XXXXX
and higher Security-sixes. Just do a search on "ruger grips"
at the various auction sites every once in a while and be on
the lookout for grips that look like those( but factory Ruger)
or something to the effect of 150-series or pre-151-series.
Good luck!0 -
I still have the Ruger factory set which is still new in factory package if you are still looking. email me if interested. These are not the small ones but the larger Ruger style. 0 -

WIPALA, The first serial # for 1973 is 150-35383. If yours is below that it was a first year Security-Six (1972). 0
