303/410
I've recently aquired a Lee Enfield 303 that was converted to .410gauge single shot for use by the Indian government. It is stamped with Indian gov't. markings. Any ideas about value and the number made/converted and where this took place?

I can help a little. Conversion was at the Isaphore Arsenal in India. The .410 shotshell cartridge as originally chambered was not the same as the standard U.S. version; although some were advertised a couple of years ago as having been further converted to the U.S. cartridge by the importer. The purpose of the weapon was two-fold, foraging and crowd control. Value runs from $50-$200, depending on condition. Total number converted is unknown (to me). 0 -
If you are interested, several of the "reloading" sites have had discussions on converting 303 brass for 410 loads which would seem to be the ticket for your gun. A search through the archives should get you some info. 0
