i found an 22 long rifel bolt action 10round mag does any one have an opinion on this for a first youth rifel[?][:p]

  I'm not aware of any Daisy .22 Cartridge Rifles..I could very well be wrong...But I only show the Caseless .22 V/L being made by Daisy Rifles in Rogers Arkansas...in the late 1960's...If this is one of these rifles...Ammo is going to Very Expensive as it has become very collectable to Cartridgwe collectors, as its no longer made...and is worth at the very least,a $1.00 a Round...The gun cannot be made to shoot .22 R.F. Ammo...

  this is of recent production 80s 90s and it shoots rimfire i have an 8 year old that loves to shoot but my mod.60 semiauto is too big and heavy for him this is small and not semi but it does have a mag[:p]

  Daisy made a number of .22lr rifles, I still have one that my old man gave me when I was a kid, it is a bolt action with a 10 round detachable rotary magazine (nearly identical to the ones that the ruger 10/22's use). Good little plinking guns for kids. I still actually use mine from time to time, sure, it's really short and small but it weighs nothing and still drives tacks.

  Daisy built these little rifles from 1983 to 1989-90.
  There were three type, single shot bolt, magazine feed bolt, and a semi-auto that used the same magazine as the bolt action repeater. they where of polimer/steel construction and not a bad little rifle.
  The only draw back was in the barrel attachment, some seemed to loosen allowing barrel movement, and thus, adversely affecting accuracy. They sell now at gun shows for way more than they did new, in perticular the semi-autos. I bought one of each in '85 for $39 each,$49 for the auto, My grand kids have had a ball with them.

  Don't do it. I posted this a week ago concerning these rifles.
  Why not look into a good sturdy Marlin bolt action 22lr.
  My mother bought me my 1st Marlin Model 60 when I was 16 for $75 brand new from KMart. I don't shoot it much anymore but that little Marlin is accurate as heck.
