S&W Model 36
I recently bought a model 36 S&W, fully gold plated, fully engraved, with pearl grips. The gun appears to be nearly perfect. How can I learn of this gun's value? I could email numbers and photos to anyone who could help.

Crawdog.... I have seen the little J frames with bobbed hammers, some of my fellow cops use them as back-ups.
They had the exhisting hammers bobbed by a gun smith, or a machinist.
As long as you stay away from the pin that secures the firing pin, you should be able to complete the job.0 -
Brownells offers a bobbed hammer for the Smith & Wesson 36, item number 940-000-046. Call them at 641-623-4000. This is safer than simply removing the hammer spur, which can cause misfires due to loss of weight in the hammer. 0 -
