what type of scope are you looking for? you can get some red dot scopes that will give you a longer eye relief.

What kind of distance? My el-cheapo 4x simmons has over 3". Most 2x small objective types have around 4". I'd look at shotgun scopes for cheap scopes with generous eye relief.
I have used Leupolds on everything from a .22lr to a .300 win mag to a .458 win mag, if you got a good hold on the gun and proper shooting form you shouldn't have any trouble with it unless you are talking something bigger - .50 BMG for instance. [:p]

A pistol scope will be designated LER (long eye relief)They are available in fixed 2x,3x,4x, and variables 2-5 and 2-7 and a bunch more variations..The LER pistol scopes will have enough eye relief that the eyepiece lens would be able to be held at arms length..Hold your arm out and stick your thumb up and that's about where the eyepiece would be...You should be able to get a tasco or a BSA for around $110.00 or less new.... A lot less used.....

Say, guys, aren't there these funny-looking long-eye-relief riflescopes called "Scout Scopes"? I've seen pictures of them mounted 'way forward on the tangent-leaf sight on Mausers, so you don't have to bother bending the bolt-handle and such....

I have purchased a few NcStar scopes with EER to about 24 in. for about 60.00.Both have performed flawlessly and you can't beat the price.Go to www.thecrankyfarmer.com and check them out.[:D]
