BSA shotgun

An iternet site in canada offers a Bsa 12guage sxs for sale. I can find no references to BSA making sxs. Were they generally of good quality and were many made or is the seller wrong on manufacturer and this is one with birmingham stamped because of proof and asumed to be BSA?

  Yes, they did. Here's a picture of one. http://www.collectorsfirearms.com/s204.htm $1750 USD. There are others at a whole lot less money. Not as pretty as this one though.
  Mind you, the guy could still be wrong. Thinking the Birmingham proof marks means it was made by BSA, like you say.
