What can anyone tell me about this Old Pre Ban Bushmaster?

  I had one years ago. Mine came with a fixed "Maple"? stock that I later painted.
  Guess I was fortunate, as the one I owned worked fine. Generally these early Bushmasters didn't have a good repretation for reliability, the only problem I had with mine was the mickey mouse flashhider which was replaced.

  $700.00 seems way excessive considering the potential for reliability problems!
  As this is a out of production variant, (AK - 47 mechanism, hasn't been made since the early 90's) how and where are you even going to get parts if it turns out to be a LEMON?
