Ruger 77/22, 10/22 question
Will a Extended Magazine release from a 10/22 work in a 77/22 bolt action?. It looks like it will to me, but I thought I would ask to see if anybody else has already done it. I am going to Tulsa Sat and if it will work, I will get it there.

Shootin.... Both these rifles use the same mags, so I dont see why they would not use the same mag release. 0 -

trsmith5, I very much appreciate the offer. I am going to the tulsa gun show tomorrow and Will pick one up there. My gun parts budget can take price of the mag release. If it don't work, I can sell it to my friend. 0 -
trsmith5, missed seeing you in Tulsa, thought you were going to make it there? By the way, I think I'm going to pick up that 10/22 I saw at the local pawnshop, so I could use the mag-release. What brand of mag-release is it? Does it work good? 0 -
matwor, I had to miss the show, my wife had other plans for me if you know what I mean.
The Extended mag release I have is made by butler creek. It's still in the package with directions. E-mail me if you want it.

Actually, the mags aren't exactly alike. 10/22 mags are slightly rounded on the bottom, while the 77/22 mags are flat.
The mags will interchange, but 77/22 mags will occasionally be hard to remove from 10/22 rifles....
