Iver Johnson Champion....How old?

I was just given a well-used Iver Johnson Champion 12 ga. by my father. It belonged to my grandfather and passed on to Dad. She has seen many a hunt.

The top of the barrel says : "12 GAUGE CHOKE BORE BARREL AND LUG FORGED IN ONE" The serial # is 1068XX. Can anyone advise when she was made? It appears to be in decent firing shape, but will purely be a mantle piece for me. She's put in her time.

  The books say the Champion was manufactured: 1909-1956.
