11-87 barrel qustion
Dumba@@ me got the choke tube stuck what can i do about it? It wont move at all after i got it out about a qurter of an inch.

Stuck choke tubes is a common problem if they are not oiled frequently. I think Brownell's makes a special wrench for the Remington choke tubes that are stuck. If you are handy with a torch and grinder you could make your own. 0 -
Reads that, "it's stuck, about 1/4" out".
If it wasn't crossthreaded going in (?), and it isn't crooked to the barrel, it could have dirty threads which can "bind".
If crooked, a thread could have slipped which is usually(rare) caused by holding tools on an angle causing 'crooked screwing'.
Try this if not crooked:
#1 Flood-flush the choke tube/barrel threads with a cleaner like carb cleaner, brake cleaner, acetone, etc. (apply oil/grease to the barrel outside first). Do this till you see the run off inside the barrel come out clean, if dirty. Apply a penetrating oil to threads. Apply ice to the choke tube. Using a hair dry blower heat below-below the barrel threaded area. After one minute try to unscrew using proper tool. If slots or tool buggered, drill a hole across the choke end, or grind slots in the choke tube end. Do either one carefully so you can put a rod thru the holes, or plate in the slots and unscrew. If stiff, screw in alittle, work tube back and forth, while trying to unscrew. Be patient.
#2. Doing the above, but if enough threads, try using a ROUND jaw vise grip. DO NOT over tighten-grip as the threads can become distorted inside causing more problems.
A good reason ot keep barrel & choke tubes clean.
If crooked:
#1.Power flush-clean as in #1 above, and apply penetrating oil.
With barrel off,
Place a small wooden or plastic block on the choke tube, holding the barrel in a barrel vise, or vertically in hand, smartly hit the HIGH side of the choke tube. That can drive the tube back over the cross threads. Try a couple times....carefully.
Once the tube is 'square' to the barrel, reapply oil. Try to unscrew, if it gets tight, work back and forth.
If tight, also try tu use #1 above.Work slow, and carefully.
After removed, smash choke tube so it can't be reused. Must have a g'smith chase the barrel threads if you don't have a chaser.
