Age and Value of Ruger #1

I have a #1 in 6mm that has a four digit serial number beginning with "6" (I think). I have always wondered how old it was and if the four digit number would make it more valuable. Anyone know? Thanks.

  valkyrie.rider, I believe the no 1 that you're describing is a pre 69
  so it has to be between 66-69 with a four digit serial # if it has no prefix. These guns command a 30-50% premium
  
  according to the book, your gun is valued at :
  100% $660 plus 30-50% for ser # 1-8xxx
  95% $440 " "
  90% $350
  80% $280
