    I believe that in most cases you will find that in addition to being pinned the sight mounts were sweated on with solder. It will be necessary to clamp the barrel vertically in a bench vise between the rear sight and front of the receiver with the muzzle downward and heat the mounts evenly all around with a propane torch. After doing so for about 30 seconds begin tapping the mounts toward the muzzle with a non-marring hammer such as a brass hammer while continuing to apply heat until they move forward and fall from the muzzle onto the floor. (Hint: Don't reach down and pick them up right away![;)])
