Jakes is a program for junior members of the NWTF http://www.nwtf.org/. I'd say it was probably engraved for it. I don't know if it was done by New England, or a gunsmith.
Here's an ad on GB that is likely what you're referring to: http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=8053184
I think it would make a neat gun for your son...

These are most likely promotional guns raffled at NWTF fundraisers.
DU does the same thing with its "Greenwing" shotgun.

I am a NWTF local chapter committee member here in Ky. and the New England Arms Jakes gun you are refering to is not a specially done gun for NWTF. The NWTF orders a certain number of these guns from New Englad Arms. They are not engraved when the NWTF gets them. They have a custom shop that does the engraving according to our regional rep. If you want one that is engraved then you will have to find one on an auction site or win one at a NWTF event. I can get the name of the shop that does the engraveing for you but they won't engrave the MWTF logo without NWTFs permission. If you are interested in a gun like it then you can buy one from any shop with the only difference being the NWTF engraving. Trust me, the engraving does not make it shoot any better all it does is make it more collectable. Hope this info helps. I might know someone that won one at our banquet and I will see if it is for sale. If so I will contact you. Also post it on the "want to buy" board.
