Model 70 XLT in .222 caliber
My brother is the original owner of a Winchester model 70 XLT in .222 caliber. He has checked with numerous sources and they all have stated that Winchester never made this rifle in .222 caliber. It was purchased in the early 80's from a sporting goods store that went out of business about 20 years ago. He owns several Winchesters and says that this one has an unusual serial number. Can anyone give me an idea as to why there is no record of this rifle and what the relative worth of it might be.

For several years Winchester made a Mod 70 XTR in a classic. A different caliber each year. I have one in a .257 Roberts. This could be the case. Cotact Winchester.
