Colt ar
I was at a show today and one of the dealers had a Colt ar. Now I forgot the name. I think it was ELITE It was a flattop with stainless barrel, match trigger, float handguard. He said the retail was about 1,500 and they are now LEO only. This was new in the box and 4 yrs. old. His price was 1,200. Great looking rifle and has me thinking. Was this a good deal?
Thanks

Im considering buying a AR-15 and Im wondering if the colt is the best way to go or if one of the cheaper aftermarket brands are just as good. It's a Colt 223 match target I think for $900 with scope 0 -
Sounds like a Colt Accurized Rifle (CR6724). These were introduced back in around 1997 and have a 24" stainless steel barrel with a 1 in 9 twist. As far as I know Colt is still marketing this rifle- at least I know of a few wholesalers who are advertising them. I could purchase one right now as a dealer for $1150 so the $1200 asking price seems fair to me. I don't think there was ever a restricted dealer sales sample of this rifle marketed. I am a Colt LE dealer and I've never heard of one of these sold from Colt with the flash hidder or bayonet lug installed. I think the talk about an LEO restriction was just an attempt to get you to purchase the rifle that day. If you feel you have a need for a rifle of this type you probably would not have found another Colt 6724 at a better price than what you saw today.

Sounds like it was a Colt Delta Elite. All you say including the four years sound like it to a "T". The price is right on, I just sold mine, serial number 118 with a $900 Leupold LPS scope on the top of it for $2700. Email me if you have any more questions.
New gun??? No, honey, I've had it for years.0 -
Thank you both for the answer to my question. I believe it was Delta Elite. I have his number and might check it out further. This is more than half my retirement check so might have to wait a little while. Thanks again.
