I would like to know the approximate year of manufacture for the following:

Remington Sportsman 58 12Ga.
Remington model 870

  Sportsman 58 (their first gas auto) 1956 to 1963
  
  870- 1950 to present (replaced the model 31)

  Well, I can tell you the Remington 870 has been in continous manufacture for a VERY LONG TIME in terms of firearms. I am pretty sure it started in the 50's very early 60's.
