Browning A5 barrel info needed..
I have a 1954-1955 Browning A5 that was my grandfathers gun. The barrel was cut down to install a weaver choke on the end of it. I have just purchased another Belgium Barrel to replace it but I have a few questions. My guns serial number indicates that it is a "Standard" (H Serial number)model. The barrel that I purchased is marked Browning Auto-5. The only numbers I can find on the barrel are "S6287", "1kg107", and "12-70". My question is do the barrels interchange between a "light" model and a "standard" model? If they dont how do you tell what barrel you have? What are the differences in the guns? I have installed the new barrel on the gun and it seems to fit well and the action cycles without any problems. Does anyone know what the proof marks I stated above mean? Any help would be great.
