Volunteer .45 comando ?
Are these rifles any good? I have a buddy who wants to trade me for a Zabala 10 Gauge double barrel, I figure the 10 is worth about $400. Does anyone have any idea what a Comando is worth in nice shape, it's a nickle finnish one. Thanks Pablo

You're talking about the Commando Mk.III .45acp "Tommy Gun" correct? If so, I've seen a few passed around from time to time a long time ago and have seen them sold for $300 to $550-$600 but I haven't seen any for several years now, I don't know what they would be exactly worth today. 0 -
I had one of the round receiver models that fired from an open bolt and used grease gun magazines. I didn't like the fact that the factory welded them so that they couldn't be taken apart and they had about a 12 # trigger pull. I paid $90 for it new about 25 years ago and I sold it for $300 10 years ago. $400 would be a good price for one if you like it. 0 -

What a small world, I say that because I have the zabala in ten gauge and three of the commando arms. One in 45 and two in 9mm. The 45 takes thompson stick mags and the 9mm takes sten mags. My zabala was my frist gun around thirty years ago and the commandos came from a ww11 vet.The last price i saw on the commandos was between 550 and 600, I don't them to often for sale.As for the zabala I've never seen another for sale I had my dad order mine new thru JC Pennies. My commando mark 9 is made by volunteer arms enterprprises knoxville tenn. I think this is the same gun you are talking about? As also is the 45.0 -

The Commando came with a metal lower initially and a synthetic in the later years. In the two different .45acp models you saw the use of two seperate magazines. One took the grease gun mags, the other took the Thompson mags, and as previously mentioned the 9mm took the sten mags. Just thought you might want to know. Additionally, other than the latter one using the Thompson mags (and on some the butt stock), there was no interchangeability of parts between the actual Thompson and the Commando. 0
