For $150.00 you can get one in fair cond. 175 good cond, 225 very good, 300 excellent, and 375 new in box as per the standard catalog of S&W.

I see them bring a lot more on the auction site. I have never seen one under $300, with many over $400, but there may be the occasional dog that is the exception.

I AM WITH THE "JUDGE" WHERE CAN YOU FIND THESE GUNS FOR THAT MONEY. PLEASE ADVISE AS I WOULD SURE BE A BUYER.[?]

I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

Thanks for the input folks. I was fairly certain that I did good on this gently-used revolver. Now I'll let my bride read your responses. She likes the little revolver (took it with her this weekend on trip to her Mom's) but she thought I might have paid too much. Best, Jim.

She might like it even better if you slick it up like I did mine. I had a gunsmith hone the action & install Woolff springs & the S&W wide trigger, plus I added the S&W target stocks.

Roger that Duckhunter. I suspect CaptK will lock this up now as my question was answered and it's now approaching a discussion board theme, but the way I did this one was I noticed a fella with one of those fanny packs a few guys ahead of us in line to get in the gunshow at the VFW. I asked him to step back to us and asked him what he was selling. He had three 4" stainless revolvers: a Taurus Mod 80 or 82 I think, a S&W Mod 64, and the S&W Mod 63. All three pretty clean and smooth working with only the slightest cylinder lines. He was asking $ 175.00 each. I offered $ 150.00 for the twenty-two and he took it. I saw him sell the Mod 64 to one of the dealers inside and saw the seller later and he told me he had sold the Taurus too. I didn't ask and he didn't say what he sold those for. Carpe Diem
