HELP! NEED TO KNOW
I've recently purchased a Mossberg 500 pump action with a pistol grip and would like to know what the best position is to hold and shoot the gun without breaking my rists.

Don't worry, you won't break your wrists. And with the pistol grip there is only one way you can really hold it. One hand on the grip one hand on the forend. The recoil is actually felt more with a full stock, just allow your arms to absorb some of the recoil like a shock absorber and you'll be fine. 0 -
I agree recoil is not bad,but you can also hold the forend tightly and you can manage recoil rather well.
Best!!

Whatever you do, don't hold the shotgun up to your face or eye and try to shoot OO buck out of it. The pistol grip while cute is more of a hip shootin set up.
Get yourself a real stock or folding stock on that gun!

ATTENTION Ty!
Whatever you do make darn sure you don't hold the pistol grip and allow your wrist to be at an angle less than 180 degrees. Make sure your wrist is IN LINE with your elbow (everything straight) to absorb the recoil evenly after firing.
I've used one for years in LEO work and shot once with an angled wrist hold and it hurt!
Enjoy.[:D]0
