piller bedding

I am considering piller bedding a ruger vt, does anybody make a kit for this operation? I would appreciate any help or advise. thanks,

  Welcome to the forums portjon...
  Yes, quite a few places sell pillar kits. Many are fully adjustable and can be usually found for under $60. You can search using any major search engines (I used google and came up with a ton)
  Unless you are pretty good with this type of stuff, I'd recommend having it done. A properly bedded rifle is awesome, a poorly (or improperly) bedded rifle is nearly useless.

  bambihunter's advice is not to be taken lightly. I am a mechanicaly inclined person myself, but when it comes to gunsmithing, I don't even glass bed my own rifles. The gunsmith does it every day with years of experience under his belt. Let him do it so that it is done correctly. Pillars are cut/lathed to very tight tolerances under the action and through the stock. Indexing these pillars is tough without proper equipment.

  I have done several. Even pillar bedded a single shot. Unless you enjoy large headaches, Big nasty messes, And days of work to fix a O SH#T. Take it to a good gun smith.
