It's a lack of quality control so evident in today's manufacturers!! Good luck getting the factory to admit to screwing up!! I've seen this kind of stuff on all of them! Once saw a 40X so bad in the action that it wouldn't fit a 40-X stock without recutting the recoil lug inlet! And you think they take great pains on regular production guns? If it is as bad as you say, you'll run out of clicks on the scope prtty quick! I'd raise cane with Remington! They might give you another one and it will have a sorry barrel! Damned if you do, Damned if you don't!! GHD

I am unsure of your question bolthandle,...

Are you saying that the scopes' crosshairs are pointing in a different place than when you look down the barrel at the target bull, without the bolt in? If so, you need to adjust the scope via the adjustment turrets. In other words, you are looking at the bullseye in the scope, and when you fire the bullet is 2' low 2' rt???

If not, them I misunderstand your question,..please expand on your explanation

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

This means you are only off 6" at 25 yards. Acceptable for a bore scope.

The important thing is how far you are off from the scope mechanical center. To check this find the total number of clicks both vertical and horizontal. Then divide by half to find center. Try to stay with in twenty clicks of center.

First locate a machinist with a precision square to determine hole alignment. I have found some off as much as .090". The factory replaced the action for free.

You can always go to Burris Signature off set inserts. They can make up to 20" correction at 100 yards.

The most important things, Are not things.

JustC after the bullet is hitting the center of the target and you line up the bull in the bore sighting it through the rifle barrel the crosshairs are 2 feet low and 2 feet to the right. Just to clear this up

Imagine that... [8D][:D] OK, now we have a starting point.

What brand and type are/is your base?
What brand and type of rings?
    What type of scope?
Is the scope new or just new to this rifle? If only new to the rifle,..where was it sighted in prior? High? Low?

This is easily explainable and correctable.

    I hope[;)]
