INFO: Sears Ted Williams Model 100 .30/.30
I just purchased one of these and would like some more info. Who manufactured these guns for Sears? How would I trace manufacture date? There appears to be a stamped modle number of V143017 on the receiver and a Sears serial number of 273.582.141 on the barrel where it has the Sears, Ted Williams, Model 100, etc, engraved.

The V143xxx# is your serial number.
The Sears model 100 (Sears inventory stock # 273.532141) was made by, and is the same as the Winchester Model 94.
*I realize that I show a 3 where you show a 8, but it's easy to mis-read stamped #'s. Or, your right and I looked up the wrong #.*
What does it look like, a Marlin, Winchster or what?
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -

guess I hit the enter key to soon on previous post. I was told it was made by Winchester, but a friend looked at it and said it looked different from his Win64 so thought I'd check. I'd still like to find out when it was manufactured. Thanks for the reply

redbiker, First of all welcome to the board.
Second, You shouldn't list the whole serial number when making posts. If you'll notice tailgunners reply, he Xed out the last three digits. This keeps it from being recorded and used maliciously against you. You can usually tell evrything about a gun in the first few numbers.
To make a LONG story SHORT, someone could take your serial number, report the gun stolen and tell authorities who took it. THEN GUESS WHAT.
